The awaited new version of Ubuntu is out since 24th April ! As a daily user of this wonderful distribution I have upgraded at the very moment final version was online. For those who don’t know linux, it’s a great oportunity to try it; it’s only difficult to handle it the first days after all. Once basis terminal commands are known (see good tutorials from google) you can really do whatever you want.
The upgrade from Gusty went out smoothly without any errors but i got some problems to get my wifi and isight work (Macbook pro 2nd gen). Suspend function seems to finally work with kernel 2.6.24 (and ATI X1600 with compiz enabled) and battery life is better. In conclusion Hardy Heron runs perfectly, as wonderful as Vista or Leopard, with same functionalites (even more!). I hope next versions will be more compatible with hardware, and have an included easy documentation; it’s the last thing to make Microsoft and Apple worried.
PS : Since I have some friends who don’t speak french I’ll write my posts in english.
